Georgia Culbreth Martin, 96, of 17 B Street, Inman, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Wesley Court Assisted Living in Boiling Springs. Mrs. Martin was born in Campobello, SC on May 7, 1919, a daughter of the late Fieldin Henry "Count" and Eva Burns Culbreth and was the widow of Robert Cecil Martin. She was a 1940 graduate of Lander University. She retired from teaching in Spartanburg County School District 1, where she had taught at Inman Elementary, Holly Springs High School, and Gramling High School; and had also taught school in Travelers Rest. She was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church where she was a member of the Georgia Belles W.M.U. and Golden Circle Sunday School Class, a member of Inman Garden Club, and had been a volunteer with Mobile Meals of Spartanbug for 32 years. She is survived by a son, Dr. Robert F. Martin and his wife Katherine Martin, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; a grandson, Andrew Martin of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two brothers, Will Earl Culbreth, of Campobello; Fieldin Henry Culbreth, Jr and his wife, Mary Catherine, of Inman and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers: Henry Amos Culbreth, Hugh Burns Culbreth, and James Barney Culbreth and two sisters, Fay Culbreth and Nell Culbreth. The family is at the home and will receive friends Saturday 9:45 until 10:45 AM at Inman Mills Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at Inman Mills Baptist Church at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 15th, with Rev. Jack Hames officiating. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
