George Clifton Weaver, Sr.
George Clifton Weaver, Sr., 87, of 1655 Old Mill Road, Campobello, SC, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at his home. George was born in Pineville, NC on April 4, 1929, a son of the late Clifton Isaac and Ruth (Yost) Weaver. He was the widower of Betty Louise (Weaver) Weaver, was retired from McLean Trucking Company and was a member of the Union ARP Church in Richburg, SC. He grew up farming and it remained his passion until the end. He loved being outside on his tractor. Buck knew the value of hard work and was always there to lend a helping hand to those who needed him. His door was always open to family, friends and neighbors. He was a cherished member of his community and local farmers. George is survived by a daughter, Joy G Crout, of Fort Mill, SC; a son, George Weaver, Jr, and wife Maricel of Campobello; a sister, Esther Lanning, of Ohio, five grandchildren, Andrea "Tiger" Perry and husband Devin, Cheyenne Carpio Weaver, George "Geo" C. Weaver, III, Logan Perry and Justin Perry. He was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela Coles and 9 brothers and sisters. He served in the U. S. Army in the Korean War. The family is at the home and will receive friends Sunday 2:00 - 3:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. A memorial service with full military honors will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel, Inman, SC, at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 22nd, with Rev Steve Compton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Regency Hospice, 880 S Pleasantburg Dr, Ste 1A, Greenville, SC 29607 or VA Medical Center, 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
