George Monroe Moore

 George Monroe Moore, 90, of Wellford, SC, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023, at Spartanburg Medical Center. George was born in Marion, NC on April 22, 1932, a son of the late Sarah (Bivens) Moore and Zeb Moore.

He was the widower of Jean (Tatum) Moore, a self-employed heavy equipment operator and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Moore was a Mason and a Shriner and a member of the Lone Oak Lodge #372. 

George is  survived by a daughter, Linda Kariotakis, of Mauldin, SC; two sons Troy Moore (Sara), of Greenville, SC; George A Moore (Karen), of Hamilton, GA; a sister, Kathleen Dimsdale, of Spartanburg, SC, stepdaughter, Paulette Holland (Allen) of Cartersville, GA, stepson, Jerry Howard (Libby) of Cartersville, GA, 4 grandchildren, Candayce Chapman, Troy Moore II, Justin Moore, Tyler Moore, 3 great grandchildren, Taylor Scheidhauer, Sebastian Moore, Austin Moore and 2 great, great grandchildren, Penelope Scheidhauer and Parks Scheidhauer. He was predeceased by a son, Richard Moore and siblings, Harvey Moore, Vera Mooney, Rachel Kress, Anita Dorman, Ruby Timmons, Albert Moore, Ray Moore, Sr., and Jeannette Moore. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Tuesday, January 10th at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, SC 

Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Cash officiating. Burial will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, Wellford, SC. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Moore, II, Ray Moore, Robbie Moore, Lenny Moore, Chuck Timmons, and Christopher Timmons.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605-4277.
