Lyman, SC---Mr. George Albert Freeman, 72, of 1006 Hampton Rd Lyman, SC passed away Wednesday, April 28th, 2010 at Magnolia Manor of Spartanburg.
Mr. Freeman was born in Cleveland, GA on September 1, 1937, the son of the late Albert Montgomery and Amanda Caroline (Parker) Freeman and was the husband of Martha Ann (Bright) Freeman of Lyman.
He retired from Phillips Fibers and was a member of Fairforest Church of God and also served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, Martha, he is survived by two sons, Scott Freeman of Moore and Alan Freeman of Charlotte, NC; two daughters, Pam Zampell of Spartanburg and Cathy Smith of Saxon; one sister, Grace Freeman of Montgomery, AL; two brothers, John Grady Freeman and Grover Freeman both of Spartanburg and nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by one daughter, Rita Bright.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Saturday, May 1st from
11 :00 - 12:00 at Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church, 4455 Anderson Mill Road, Moore, SC 29369. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 110 Dillon Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
