Mrs. Genevieve Wykel Upton, 95, of 414 Wedgewood Dr. Boiling Springs died Wednesday, April 14th, 2010 at Valley Falls Terrace.
Mrs. Upton was born in Franklin, N.C. on July 7, 1914, the daughter of the late William Henry and Delphia Rosetta Kenner Wykel.
She was the widow of Bryant Upton and was a homemaker. She was a member of West Spartanburg Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sons, Alfred L. "Chick" Upton of Boiling Springs, John A. Upton of Gaffney, Frankie L. Upton of Spartanburg, Harold E. Upton of McCormick, one daughter, Eudora U. Gonzales of Las Vegas, one brother, Ralph L. Wykel of Greenwood, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Anna Belle W. Ward.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 16, 2010 at 3:00pm at Seawright Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Brian Tillotson and Rev. Jackie Bridwell. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends 2:00-3:00pm Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army.
