Gary Dale Lawter, 63, of 1380 Casey Creek Road Chesnee, SC, passed away Saturday, November 11th, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Gary was born in Cowpens, SC on October 21, 1954, a son of the late Lillie Mae Griffin Lawter and James Thomas Lawter and he was the widower of Carolyn June King Lawter.
He was retired from at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and was a member of Casey Creek Baptist Church.
Gary is survived by two brothers; Larry Lawter and wife Kathy of Boiling Springs, Tommy Ray Lawter and wife Carol of Seneca, SC; his parents-in-law, Talmadge and Mae King of Spartanburg; a step son, Michael and step daughter, Melissa; his nieces; Melissa Lawter Wagner of Union, Malanie Lawter Walters of Columbia, a number of cousins and brothers and sisters in law.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Tuesday 2:00 until 2:45 at Casey Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 14th, with Rev. Jerry C. White officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Casey Creek Baptist Church, 1199 Casey Creek Road, Chesnee, SC 29323.
