Gary Franklin Gibbs, 80, of 1241 Upper Valley Falls Road, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Gary was born in Fort Myers, Florida on December 10, 1940, a son of the late Johnny Franklin Gibbs and Hester Frazier Gibbs. He was a retired real estate broker for over forty five years, having served in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida. As a realtor, Gary never tired of assisting clients and making new friends. He was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church, and played a big part in the building committee for the church.
Gary is survived by two sons, Anthony Todd Gibbs, of Florida; David Gibbs, of North Carolina; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and his former wife of fifty four years, Judy Braisted Gibbs. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was "Pappy". Pappy was special and he will be missed.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gibbs was predeceased by a son, Gary Allen Gibbs.
A Memorial Service will be held at Seawright Funeral Home, Inman, South Carolina, on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at 2:00 PM, conducted by, Rev. Mitch Crow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29303.
