Mr. Gaius Rochester Jackson, 90, formerly of 49 Blackstock Rd. died Sunday, April 10th, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Jackson was born on June 5, 1920 and was the son of the late Doctor and Mattie Mae Constant Jackson. He was the widower of the late Addie Redden Jackson and a member of Inman First Baptist Church and a former deacon. He was a WW II Army Veteran and was a member of the Inman American Legion Post 45 and the D A V. He had retired from textiles.
Survivors include his niece and caregiver, Agnes Belcher of Campobello, SC, a cousin Clois Jackson of Polk Co, NC and a dear, loving friend, Thelma Metcalf. He was predeceased by three brothers, Clifford, Tillman and Hubert Jackson.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Wednesday April 13, 2011 at Seawright Funeral Home from 1:30 to 2:30 PM .
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 PM in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman conducted by Dr. Paul Moore. The Rutherfordton County Honor Guard will conduct full military rites at graveside.
