Mr. Furman C. Bass, 86, of 781 Lyman Rd. passed away on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011 at Skylyn Place in Spartanburg. Born in Inman, S.C. on March 28, 1925, he was the son of the late Arthur G. and Mary (Roper) Bass and was the husband of the late Mrs. Ada (Terry) Bass. Furman worked in Real Estate and was the owner of Furman's Place, was a Staff Sargent in U.S. Army having served during WWII and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Bass is survived by a step-son, Gerald Terry and his wife Lib of Inman; step-daughter, Shannon Ridings and her husband Gene of Gramling; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers, Hugh, Arthur, Edward, Elford, Fred and Judd; and three sisters, Lucille Johnson, Ruth Burnett and Nell Cooper.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 24, 2011 from 10:00 - 10:45AM at Seawright Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman at 11AM on Friday, June 24th, with Rev. Ansel Norris officiating.
