Fred James Martin, Jr. 81, of 230 Oak Street Boiling Springs, SC, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
He was born in Union, SC on April 16, 1931, a son of the late Etta Harrison and Fred James Martin, Sr. and was the husband of Ingelore Klatt Martin, who survives him of the home.
He retired from the US Army as First Sergeant and was a member of Green Street Baptist Church in Spartanburg. He was a mason.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Patricia Martin Pye and Angelika Martin Barry, both of Boiling Springs, a brother, Bobby Martin of Spartanburg, two sisters, Helen Young and Geri Hansen, both of Spartanburg, five grandchildren, Sydnie and Jake Pye, Michael and Kelli Smith, and Austin Humphries. He was predeceased by a brother, Haskel Martin and sisters, Teresa Seay and Judy West. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at Seawright Funeral Home Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 6:00pm. The family is at their respective homes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home 686 Jeff Davis Drive Spartanburg, SC 29303.
