Fred Spencer Bird, 84, of 339 Hillcove Point passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 at his residence. Fred was born in Inman on March 11, 1931, a son of the late Irene Hayes Bird and Thomas Frank Bird. He was the widower of Ann Moomey Bird. He graduated from Inman High School and attended Wofford College where he played basketball, later retired as the owner of the Bird Insurance Agency, formerly the Inman Insurance Agency, and was a member of Nazareth Presbyterian Church in Moore. He is survived by a daughter, Kelly Bird Erwin of the home, a sister, Doris Bell and her husband John, of Bishopville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also predeceased by a daughter Julie Elizabeth Bird. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Monday following the graveside service at Nazareth Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. A graveside service will be held at Nazareth Presbyterian Church Cemetery Monday, April 6 at 2:00 PM conducted by Rev. David H. Sutton and Dr. Tom Malone.
