Francis Simon "Frank" Genbauffe, 94, of 307 Dogwood Cricle in Inman, passed away Wednesday, August 9th, at Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg.
Frank was born in Dampremy, Belgium on June 9, 1923, a son of the late Marie Anne Duchene Genbauffe and Alexandre Joseph Genbauffe. He was the husband of Ruby Gullion Genbauffe.
He served in the US Navy 1941-1945, attended Oregon State University, graduated with a degree in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and earned his Master's Degree in Business from The University of Pittsburgh. He retired as Director of Engineering at Robertshaw Controlls. Frank was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Inman.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by four daughters; Marsha Vornehm and husband Joe of Columbia, SC, Karen Wilson and husband Bill of Rochester, NY, Pam Strickler and husband Roger of Mt. Pleasant, PA, Jill Sewell of Jacksonville, FL; a son, Frank S. Genbauffe, Jr. and wife Mel of Cincinnati, Oh; eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held, Saturday, September 9, 2017, from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. A memorial service will follow at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 11:00 AM, conducted by Rev. Gary Byrd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Regional Hospice Home 686 Jeff Davis Drive Spartanburg, SC 29303.
