Frances Johnson Lawson, 96, formerly of Boiling Springs, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, April 14th, 2013. She was the wife of the late Ernest Everette Lawson.
Frances loved her family with a dedicated devotion. Her family includes her children: a daughter, Rona Burnett and son-in-law Wayne; son, Ernest "Ernie" E. Lawson, Jr and daughter-in-law, Judy; daughter, Wanda Fowler and son-in-law, Ernie W. Fowler; Grandchildren: Perry W. Burnett and wife, Regina; Ernest "Ernie" E. Lawson III and wife, Pam; Shawn Lawson and wife, Laura; Layne Fowler and wife, Missy; Great Grandchildren: Trey Burnett, Allison Lawson, Will Fowler, Colton Fowler, and Samantha Fowler. She was predeceased by a grandson, Forrest Fowler.
Frances was born in Greenville on March 16, 1917 to Oscar and Arneila Cothran Johnson and grew up in the Spartan Mills Community. She graduated from Beulah Heights Bible College in 1931 where she studied to become a missionary. Although she never went to a foreign mission field, she was a dedicated Christian who took interest in helping and encouraging her family, friends, and residents of Eden Terrace.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at 2:30 PM in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Tuesday 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman. The family expresses appreciation to the staff, caregivers, and residents of Eden Terrace in Spartanburg and to the caregivers of United Hospice.
