Frances Tucker Cartee Copeland, 87, of Clinton, formerly of Inman, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at Langston House in Clinton. Born December 22, 1926 in the Holly Springs community, she was a daughter of the late Spurgeon E. Tucker and Julie Belle Bowers Tucker Parris. She was first married to the late Huey A. Cartee, Sr. and later was the widow of Gerald Copeland. She was retired from Saybrook Plant of Inman Mills and a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her son; Huey Cartee, Jr and wife Glenda of Cross Hill, SC, her daughter; Tanya Edwards and husband Greg of Hickory, N.C., a half sister; Judy Scruggs of Mayo, a step daughter; Ann Heatherington and husband Dale of GA, four grandsons; Chad Cartee and wife Tara, Phillip Edwards and wife Melissa, Michael Edwards and wife Karin, Taylor Edwards, and seven great grandchildren; Ashby Cartee, Abbi Cartee, Eli Edwards, Emerson Edwards, Peyton Edwards, Kayla Glenn, and Katy Wilson.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM at Holston Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Holston Creek Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Reggie Parker. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and Willing Workers Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Escorts.
