Frances Hayes Bobo, 89, of 231 Bobo Place, Inman passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of the Chesnee community, she was a daughter of the late Claude J. and Mary Luna Cabiness Hayes. She was the widow of Charles Ralph Bobo, Jr. Mrs. Bobo attended the University of South Carolina and Limestone College. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was the retired owner and operator of Bobo's Restraunt in Inman. As a military wife and mother, Frances made loving homes in England, The Azores, the states of Washington, Alabama, and Shaw Field and Donaldson Field in S.C. before settling in Inman. She followed her passion as an artist painting nature experiences, especially hummingbirds.
She is survived by two sons, Charles M. Bobo of Inman, Jimmy Bobo and wife Pam of Inman, a sister, Geraldine H. Nantz of Spartanburg, sister in law, Helen Bobo Bryson of Spartanburg; grandchildren are Anna Bobo Christie and husband Jeremy, Ashley Elizabeth Bobo, Mary Victoria Bobo, Bryan C. Benstead and wife Abbey; and three great grandchildren, Zoey Christie, Cody Benstead, and Jacey Benstead.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday, November 11, 2013 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jerry Clevenger and Rev. David Powell. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of Jimmy Bobo at 607 Woodland Avenue, Inman and will receive friends 4:00 until 6:00 Sunday at Seawright Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church 690 Park Road, Inman, S.C. 29349. The family wishes to recognize and thank all of her loyal friends who gave her flowers while she was still alive.
