Floyd Graham Painter, Sr., 77, of 1095 Maryland Ave. went to be with Jesus on Christmas Day 2009 at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, N.C.
Mr. Painter was born in Cowpens, SC on July 17, 1932, the son of the late John Claude and Alice Elizabeth (Cash) Painter. He was the husband of Doris (Elsey) Painter for 54 years.
Mr. Painter graduated after four years from Robinson's Business College, was a USAF Korean War Vet for four years, former Spartanburg City Policeman, a Mason, Shriner and was retired from Southern Railroad. He was a Christian and of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by three sons, Graham Painter and wife Mary of Bostic, NC, Timothy Painter of Boiling Springs, SC, Michael A. Painter, Sr., one daughter, Sharon Bowie, a brother, Billy Painter all of Spartanburg, two sisters, Becky Hall of Minn., Mary Langston of Ga., ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
