Faye Tweed Henderson, 85, of 111 Goforth Street, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at her residence. Faye was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on December 5, 1930, a daughter of the late Thomas E. and Bernice Dillard Tweed. She was married to the late Bobby Lee Henderson for 70 years and on Wednesday they were reunited for all of eternity.
Mrs. Henderson was a charter member of Covenant Baptist Church, a member of the Joy Group Sunday school class, the WMU and the Yesterdays Teens, all at the church. Faye was a retired employee from Prym Dritz. Besides her family and church, other passions that she enjoyed were playing bingo, gardening and relaxing times at the beach.
Faye is survived by two daughters, Gayle Russell and her husband Danny; Debra Hall and her husband James; one son, Robert W. Henderson and his wife Karen; six grandchildren, Rex Russell and his wife Alane; Jay Russell and his wife Reasa; Jim Hall and his wife Nikki; Lea Cudd and her husband Chris; Robert B. Henderson; Leslie Jester and her husband David; fifteen great-grandchildren, Coleman Russell, Anna Russell, Sophia Russell, Olivia Russell, Jacob Henderson, Victoria Edwards, Gabby Edwards, Will Edwards, Logan Henderson, Alexis Henderson, Aiden Henderson, Kimber Hall, Kulyn Hall, Bradley Nations, Britt Nations; two great-great-grandsons, Roman Nations and River Nations; one sister, Marion Tweed Ballew and her husband Jim; several nieces and nephews and her beloved pet, Trix.
In addition to her parents and husband, Faye was predeceased by a brother, Carl T. Tweed and a sister, Christine Tweed Cannon.
Visitation will be held, Sunday, October 30, 2016, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Covenant Baptist Church, Spartanburg, South Carolina. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at Covenant Baptist Church on Sunday, conducted by Rev. Gary Hensley. Burial will follow at Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, Wellford, South Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Covenant Baptist Church, 200 Evangel Road, Spartanburg, South Carolina, 29301 or Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 120 Heywood Ave. Suite 300, Spartanburg, South Carolina 29302.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the following people for the loving care that they gave to Mrs. Henderson: Hospice Nurse, Anita Robinson; caregivers, Cathy Nash, Miranda " Buggy" and Pearlene Goode.
