Evelyn Tate Emory

Chesnee, SC---Evelyn D. Tate Emory, 91, of 1697 Fish Camp Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born in Spartanburg County on January 6, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Horace and Rosie Mae (Cudd) Tate and was the widow of Edmond P. Emory. Mrs. Emory was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church, taught Sunday School for many years and retired from the textile industry. Survivors include two daughters, Ann Honeycutt of Chesnee, SC and Jackie Tinsley and her husband Pat of Cowpens, SC along with 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 22 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one son, Wayne Emory, one sister and two brothers. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 1:00 - 1:45 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church, 5555 Parris Bridge Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the church with Rev. Tyler Kirby officiating. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain View Baptist Church "Building Fund", 5555 Parris Bridge Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. The family is at the home of Jackie and Pat Tinsley, 101 North Pointe Drive, Cowpens, SC.
