Ernie Dean Davis, 73, of 115 Cunningham Street, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg. Ernie was born in Piedmont, SC on July 15, 1944, a son of the late Louie and Lucille (Luker) Davis. He was the husband of Joan (Beaty) Davis, retired from Adidas and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Ernie enjoyed being a member of the Paradise Lanes Bowling League.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons Bryan Davis and wife Lisa, of Durham, NC; Steven Davis and wife Tina, of Lyman, Shawn Davis, of Woodruff; a step daughter, Jennifer Massey Seigler and husband Mike of Lyman, a step son,Chris Massey and wife Aleshia, of Inman; a sister, Linda Brooks and husband Tony, of Spartanburg ,a brother, Thomas Davis and his wife Loraine, four grandchildren, Elijah Davis, A.J. Seigler, Carlin Massey, Kenna Massey and brother-in-law, Vernon Smith, husband of the late Ann Smith of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by his grandson, Alexander Lee Seigler, and a sister Ann Smith. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 1:00 to 1:45 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 842 Mt. Zion Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29303. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ernie Davis will follow in the church sanctuary at 2:00 PM conducted by Rev. Rob Gouge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alexander Lee Seigler N.I.C.U. Educational Fund through the Spartanburg Regional Foundation, 101 E. Wood St., Spartanburg, SC 29303 , Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 842 Mt. Zion Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home.
