 Ernest Robert Melton, 73, of 400 Mason Road, Inman, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at his residence. 
Robert was born in Spartanburg on January 23, 1949, a son of the late Vera Louise Bailey Melton and Ernest B. Melton. He was the widower of Joyce Elaine Jett Melton. He was a 1967 graduate of Chapman High School in Inman.
He served as a Sgt. in the US Army and completed three tours in Viet Nam. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. No services have been scheduled at this time.
