Ernest Skip Hoagland

Ernest Henry (Skip) Hoagland, Jr., 68, of 162 Ridgewood Dr. passed away Monday, November 19, 2012. Born in Waltham, MA on April 3, 1944, he was the son of the late Lucy Elvira (Hines) and Ernest Henry Hoagland, Sr. and was the husband of Mrs. Marion (Johnson) Hoagland having celebrated 49 years of marriage. Mr. Hoagland worked as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for Tyco and was a volunteer for the United Way of the Piedmont from 2009 until 2012. He was of the Catholic Faith. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Ernest Henry Hoagland,III (Hope) of Inman and Steven Elliott Hoagland (Margaret) of Concord, MA; two sisters, Helen Benoit of Falmouth, MA and M. Joyce Hoagland of Waltham, MA; one brother, John S. Hoagland of Hernando, Fl; one granddaughter, Kellie Hoagland and one grandson, James Hoagland. He was predeceased by one sister, Marlene Welsh. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the United Way, PO Box 5624, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
