Emma L. Gregory Allen, 87, of 823 Indian Trail Run Inman formerly of 26 Second St. completed her earthly journey on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Smith Phayer Hospice House in Landrum, SC. Her profound strength continued to amaze her family until her final breath. "She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future." Proverbs 31:25
Born in Cherokee Township, SC on September 4, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Earl and Sadie Lee (Horton) Gregory and was the wife of the late Mr. Robert B. Allen.
Mrs. Allen was a seamstress and a homemaker.
She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church where she was a former member of the choir.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Gaines McCarter and her husband Harry of Inman and Debra Greene Jackson and her husband Tony of Inman; four grandchildren, Samuel Russell Gaines, Jr, Sonya Gaines Malone and her husband Donnie, Robert Nelson Bellamy and his wife Angela and Joshua Allen Greene and his wife Kristen; six great grandchildren, Samuel Russell Gaines III, Hampton Gaines Malone, Ragan Emma Bellamy, Brady Claire Greene, Brooklyn Marie Bellamy and Banks Hamilton Greene; and five sisters, Ethel Waddell, Earline Teague, Ernestine Hendrix, Elaine Center and Evelyn Fagan. She was predeceased by two brothers, J.C. Gregory and Joe Gregory and one sister, Edith Gregory Waldrop.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 1:30 - 3:00 PM at Harvest Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow in the church at 3:00 PM with Rev. Terry McMillian officiating. Entombment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
