Ella Neil Scott Holden

February 10, 1921 — April 14, 2017

Ella Neil Scott Holden of 85 E. Main Street, Inman; loving wife of the late Thomas Walker Holden, Sr., left this Earthly life on Friday, April 14, 2017 after a long illness. Mrs. Holden was born on February 10, 1921 to the late Joseph Clifford and Naomi Goodyear Scott of Spartanburg. She was a loyal and active member of Inman First Baptist Church where she was active as Sunbeam Director, Bible School Teacher, Circle, and WMU and loved her Sunday School class. She was always involved in unselfish deeds for her church and community. Mrs. Holden was married to Thomas Walker Holden, Sr for 65years. She is survived by her children; Tom Holden, Jr (Dottie), Mildred "Mickey" Higgins (Rick), Rev. David Holden; and her daughter-in-law, Rene Holden, grandchildren; Angi Gaffney Houston (Kevin), Jamie Holden Pearson (Charles), Chris Holden, Lee Holden, Nicholas Holden; step grandson, Tim Holden; Great Grandchildren, Thomas, Reagan, and Jackson Pearson; step great grandsons, Zach and Chase Houston; and a sister, Naomi Fain. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Richard Holden, brothers, Clifford and Gibson Scott; and sisters, Jean Pitt and Era Riser. She also had the joy of brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 18 from 1:00 until 1:50 in the Atrium of Inman First Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 conducted by Dr. Paul Moore, Rev. Jeremiah Childers, and Rev. David Holden. A private burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman.
Serving as pallbearers are; Chris Holden, Lee Holden, Nic Holden, Tim Holden, Thomas Pearson, Kenneth Giles, Keith Holden, Frankie Holden, Kevin Houston, and Zach Houston.
A very special thanks, love, and appreciation to caregivers and friends; Jodi Dimsdale and Stacy Kirby Parris for your devotion and tender care for so many years. Also thank you to Piedmont Hospice for your help care and kindness. The family will be at the home and ask in lieu of flowers that you make donations to: Building Fund, Inman First Baptist Church, 14 North Howard Street, Inman, S.C. 29349
