Alice Elizabeth (Betty) Boy Smith, of Greensboro, NC, joined her beloved husband of 47 years, for their first dance in heaven on Saturday, July 26, 2020.
Betty was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert M. Boy of Wellford, SC, and was a graduate of Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. Betty was a longtime member of Vandalia Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, N.C. She was predeceased by her one love, Jones E. Smith of Greensboro, NC, who spoiled her to no end and is without a doubt happy to have her with him again.
She was the daughter-in-law of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Smith, Sr. of Spartanburg, SC, and sister-in-law of the late J.H. Smith, Jr. of White Stone, SC. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Patricia Morrow Smith of White Stone, and Nora Daniel Smith Tindall of Spartanburg. Also surviving are nephew Michael Alan Tindall (Dedra) of Brevard, NC, niece Dina Tindall Cooksey (Wayne) of Roebuck, SC, great nieces Elizabeth Cooksey Bryson and Natalie Cooksey Lovelace (Josh) of Chesnee, SC, and three great-great nieces and one great-great nephew.
Betty is also survived by the most special friends and neighbors one could wish for in a lifetime.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Wellford Cemetery, 235 Syphrit Road, Wellford, SC 29385, conducted by Dr. Paul Ridolfi. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Vandalia Presbyterian Church, 101 W. Vandalia Road, Greensboro, NC 27406.
