Elizabeth Varner McDowell, 91, of 3 Harris Street, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018, at her residence. Elizabeth was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on April 29, 1927, a daughter of the late Otis Carrie Varner and Ola Jackson Varner. She was the widow of John Robert McDowell. Mrs. McDowell was a retired employee of Pacific Mills, a member of the Inman Garden Club and the Inman Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Inman First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Lydia/Faith Sunday school class and the Cheerios group. Elizabeth is survived by a son, Tim McDowell of the home; three grandchildren, Angela Schlosser, of Mooresville, North Carolina; Scott Buchanan, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina and Brad Ellison, of Asheville, North Carolina. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Scott Buchanan Jr. and Alex Schlosser. In addition to her parents and spouse, Mrs. McDowell was predeceased by two daughters, Judy McDowell Buchanan and Regina McDowell Cole; a brother, Otis Carroll Varner; and a sister, Alice Varner. Visitation will be held 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be follow at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Seawright Funeral Chapel, conducted by Dr. Paul Moore. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Inman, South Carolina.
