Eleanor Elaine Huneycutt

Eleanor Elaine Reese Huneycutt, PHR, 80, born on May 3, 1938 of Inman, SC died on September 13, 2018 of complications of vascular dementia at her home.

She was a native of Greenville, County, SC and married to William Avery Huneycutt having celebrated 61 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late William Wilford Reese and Geneva Margaret Lamb Reese. Eleanor and Avery moved their family to Spartanburg, SC in 1967.

Eleanor was a graduate of Mars Hill College in music and where she met Avery. She retired from Prym/Dritz Corp as Human Resources Manager. She was a former partner of Gifts Unusual, Carolina Reese Corp., EBC Inc. and former owner of Honey Bears Learning & Development Center.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Kate Barry Chapter, member of the Society of Human Resource Management, member of the National Association of Universal Women, Former President of Women's Political Caucus, former member of Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce, former member of Spartanburg Development Association, former member of Private Industry Council Board of Directors, former member of the Business & Professional Women's Club and awarded the Small Business Women Of The Year; former founding member of the Board of Directors of St. Luke's Free Medical Clinic.

She was the sister of S.C. Senator Glenn G. Reese, Sr. and his wife, Janis owner of Krispy Kreme. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by three daughters, Sharon Lynn Huneycutt Harris and her husband, Stan Harris; Margaret Elaine Huneycutt Harris and her husband, Ronnie Harris; and Melinda Kathryn Huneycutt McMillion and her husband, Mike McMillion; three grandchildren, Jenny Harris Hauser and her husband, SGT. USAF Kyle Hauser stationed at Travis AFB, California; Staff SGT. USAF, William Luke Harris and his wife Hannah Harris, of Spartanburg and Lee Alexander McMillion employed as dispatcher with the SC Department of Public Safety and six great grandchildren, Brett Robert, Ryan Truman, Brooke Ann, Natalie Elaine, William Mathew Harris and Savannah Marie Harris.

Also survived by her nieces and nephews: Kenneth Ray Bradley, James Robert Bradley, Glenn Gilbert Reese, Jr., John David Reeese, Kathryn Elizabeth Reese Britt, William Michael Reese and Alexander James Reese, Barbara West Curlee, Brenda West Barrier. Lastly survived by two loving friends: Jo Krokus and Patty Seifert Graves.

In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by brother, Dr. James W. Reese, who was a professor at University of South Carolina Upstate, a sister,Judith Ann Reese Bradley, who was a retired nurse and VP of Nursing at St. Luke's and nephew, Robert West..

Her hobbies included traveling, history, reading, collector of Indian Art and antiques. She loved "discovery"!

A Celebration of Her Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 3:30 PM in the Seawright Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Manning Strickland. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
