Eleanor Hudson Rhodes Hughes, 72, of 149 Waterford Drive, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Eleanor was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on September 21, 1944, a daughter of the late Quittman M. Rhodes and Aileen Hudson Rhodes Pierson. She was a graduate of Furman University in 1966, a retired employee of Milliken & Co. and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Hughes loved traveling, camping and being on the water, but her number one passion, was her love for her family.
Eleanor is survived by her significant other, Harry Brancheau; four daughters, Catherine Creager and her husband, David, of Inman, South Carolina; Anna Gilmore and her husband, Kiley, of Campobello, South Carolina; Carrie Daenzer and her husband, Andy, of Greenville, Michigan; Cris Fuhrman and her husband, Todd, of Greenville, Michigan; eight grandchildren, Ethan Owens, Kyle Gilmore, Sarah Gilmore, Emily Daenzer, Isaiah Daenzer, Lily Daenzer, Lucas Fuhrman, Morgan Meadows and her husband, Arthur; one great-grandchild, Mason Meadows; a sister-in-law, Martha Niemczura and her husband, Joe, of Armada, Michigan; two brothers-in-law, Roger Brancheau and his wife, Vickie, of Florissant, Missouri and David Brancheau and his wife, Linda, of Canton, Michigan.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. at Seawright Funeral Home. A Private memorial service will be held at a later date.
