Edna W. Hammett, 91, of 400 Webber Rd. was welcomed into Heaven by her Lord Jesus on Tuesday, July 21st, 2009. Her husband Samuel K. Hammett and her son Kermit E. Hammett were waiting for her there. .
Edna was a member of First Baptist Church North Spartanburg and the Circle of Friends Sunday School Class.
Surviving are a son, Samuel D. Hammett of Roanoke, VA and his daughter, Samantha Hammett Thomas and her husband Mark with their children Owen and Caroline of Alpharetta, GA; a daughter, Rose Marie and her husband Rev. AI Phillips of Inman and their children, Rev. Joshua Phillips and his wife Brooke and their daughters, Kate and Ava Grace of Inman, Rev. Jonathan Phillips and his wife Natalie of Boiling Springs, SC, Jennifer Phillips Garick and her husband Tigue of Birmingham, AL. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jessica Hammett Yates and her husband Brian and their son Brenson of Gaffney, Matthew Hammett and his wife Vernice of Spartanburg and a brother-in law, Gaius Jackson of Inman.
The family wishes to thank the staff at White Oak Estates and Hospice Care of SC for their loving care and support.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 24, 2009 at 6:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM at First Baptist North Spartanburg conducted by Rev. AI Phillips, assisted by Rev. Joshua Phillips and Rev. Jonathan Phillips.
The family will be at the home of Rev. AI and Rose Phillips at 980 Ship Wreck Place, Inman, SC 29349
