Edith Settle Mathis, 97, of 379 Pine Haven Street Ext., Laurens, SC, formerly of Inman, SC passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024 at NHC Healthcare Laurens. Edith was born in Spartanburg, SC on January 14, 1927, a daughter of the late Susie (Turner) Settle and Grady Settle.
She was the widow of Walter William Mathis and was first married to the late Garrison Duncan. She was formerly employed at Woolworth in Spartanburg, retired from Inman Mills and was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church where she was a member of the church choir.
She is survived by a sister, Jean S Patterson of Laurens, two step grandchildren, Scott Cothran (Beverly), Mark Cothran (Kelly), and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Emily Mae Settle and Lois S. Johnson.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 10th at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman, SC with Chaplain Todd Leach officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holston Creek Baptist Church, 311 Holston Creek Church Road, Inman, SC 29349.
