Edith Jane Moore Mahaffey, 75, formerly of 175 Barnwell Drive, Wellford, South Carolina, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Lake Emory Post Acute Care, Inman, South Carolina. Edith was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on July 7, 1941, a daughter of the late Clyde Moore and Anne Lou Foster Moore Cheatham. She was the widow of Joe Ray Mahaffey. Edith retired from Liberty Uniform and was a former member of New Prospect Baptist Church, Inman, South Carolina.
Mrs. Mahaffey is survived by a daughter, Brenda Pruitt, of Wellford, South Carolina; a son, Kenneth Mahaffey and his wife Patricia, of Inman, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Dwayne Mahaffey, Craig Pruitt, April Byrd and her husband Chuck; five great-grandchildren, Joseph Mahaffey, Lucus Mahaffey, Jason Mahaffey, Ava Pruitt, Kayla Byrd and Jacob Byrd.
In addition to her parents and husband, Edith was predeceased by a sister, Dot Pruitt.
Visitation will be held, Wednesday, February 15, 2017, from 11:00 AM until 11:45 AM. at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Seawright Funeral Chapel, conducted by, Rev. Jack Howard and Rev. Joe Miller.
Burial will follow at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
The families are at their respective homes.
