Inman, SC--- Edith Elizabeth Pilgrim Brown, 77, of 62 Bomar St. Inman, SC, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Magnolia Manor of Inman. Born in Inman, SC on January 3, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Moss) and Houston Pilgrim and was the wife of Jerome Brown having celebrated 17 years of marriage. Mrs. Brown was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, Jerome she is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Annie K. Pilgrim of Inman, South Carolina; Florence Smith and her husband Joseph of Baltimore, Maryland and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by two sisters, Ellen Maxton and Oneal Pilgrim and four brothers, Houston Pilgrim, Jr., Johnny Pilgrim, Horace Pilgrim and William Eugene Pilgrim.
The family will receive friends at Seawright Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM in the Seawright Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. James Tillotson and Dr. Richard L. Sadler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Breast Cancer Foundation at Gibbs Cancer Center, 101 E. Wood St., Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home of her caregiver, Renee Hines, 47 Bomar St., Inman, SC 29349.
