Edgar "Red" Nicholson

Edgar "Red" Nicholson, 85, of 741 North Main Street, Inman, SC, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at White Oak of North Grove in Spartanburg. Edgar was born in Brevard, NC on December 24, 1932, a son of the late F.N. and Cora Lee (Holden) Nicholson. He was the husband of Ernestine (Splawn) Nicholson and was first married to the late Irene Seay Nicholson. He retired as Plant Supervisor at Biltmore Dairy and Pet Dairy with over 41 years of service. He was a member of Parkway Free Will Baptist Church in Boiling Springs. In addition to his wife, Edgar is survived by a daughter, Judy N. Burnett (Ricky), of Campobello; three sons Eddie S. Nicholson, Jr.(Sandra), of Lynn, NC; Roger D. Nicholson (Shari) of Inman; Roy E. Nicholson (Latrelle) of Boiling Springs, four step children, Susan Groomes (Brandon), of Enoree, Shannon E Splawn (Lisa) of Ohio, Robert L Pressley of Spartanburg, Brian Splawn (Jenny) of Boiling Springs, 11 grandchildren and a granddaughter raised in the home, Amy Drummond, 24 great grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren on the way. He was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce Nicholson, a granddaughter, Dana Salters, a sister, Cora Lee Bracken and a brother Dewey Nicholson. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War and was a member of the Inman American Legion Post #45. The family is at his home and will receive friends Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 10:00 AM - 11:30AM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, July 5th at the Seawright Funeral Chapel with Rev Mitch Edge and Rev Wes Murray officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkway Free Will Baptist Church, PO Box 160283, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. The family wishes to thank the staff of White Oak of North Grove for their care.
