Earnest Gibson Taber

Earnest Gibson Taber, 76, of 135 Martin St. died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at his home. Mr. Taber was born in Mayo, SC on December 20, 1932, the son of the late William Killiam and Beatty (Bishop) Taber. He was the husband of Betty (Hicks) Taber and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Valley Falls. He was first married to the late Ruth Hood Taber and was a longtime member of the Arcadia Masonic Lodge # 285 and had retired from textiles.
In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by a daughter, Diane Couch of Cowpens ,SC , two stepsons, Charles Dale Chapman of Chesnee SC., Jeffery Scott Chapman of Columbia, SC. two step grandsons, a granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Taber.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday, Nov. 23, 2009 at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 24th, with Dr. John Lancaster officiating. Burial will be in the Cooley Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is at 221 Blalock Rd., Boiling Springs, SC
