Dr. William C. Howard

Dr. William Calvin (Bill) Howard, 84, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022, at White Oak Estates in Spartanburg.   He was born in Greer, SC on May 13, 1938, a son of the late Lora Rometta (Edwards) Howard and James Calvin Howard.

Dr. Howard was a retired Baptist pastor having served churches in South and North Carolina. He dedicated over 40 years of his life serving God. He was married to Joyce Satterfield Howard; and they have three children, seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kimmie Breitenbach, of Cowpens, SC; Sharon H Walker (Michael), of Bessemer, AL; a son, W Todd Howard (Libby), of Greenwood, SC; two sisters, Jean Pickett and Angela Hoke and one brother, Robert Howard. He was predeceased by a sister, Sylvia Rhodes, a brother, Dan Howard and a son-in-law Danny Breitenbach.
 
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Dr. Howard was a graduate of Greer High School  where he played guard on the 1956 State football Championship team. He also graduated from North Greenville College, Limestone College and Luther Rice Seminary with the Masters in Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry degrees. Dr. Howard helped to establish New Faith Baptist Church in Campobello, SC in 1988. He retired in 2008. The families are at their respective homes.

The family will receive friends at Seawright Funeral Home from 10:00 - 10:45 AM Tuesday, November 22, 2022. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Darryl Taylor officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman, SC.
