Spartanburg, SC---Mr. Douglas Eugene Wingo, 57 of 285 West Ave, Spartanburg, SC passed away Thursday, May 14th, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Wingo was born in Spartanburg County, SC on May 19, 1951, the son of the late Oma and Jessie (West) Wingo.
He is survived by sisters Barbara Fowler and husband Bob, Nancy Morgan and husband Larry, Carolyn Fowler, Margaret Green, Brenda Wingo, brothers Edward Wingo and wife Jane, Bob Wingo and wife Frances, and a number of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving cat, Charley and a neighborhood of friends that he loved and enjoyed visiting with. Doug was a loving and wonderful person and he will be missed terribly.
He retired from Textron as a machinist and was of the Baptist faith.
The family is at the home of his sister, 298 West Ave., Spartanburg and will receive friends at the cemetery following the service
Graveside services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Spartanburg, SC, at 11 :00 AM on Saturday, May 16th, with Rev Sonny Bright officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Spartanburg, SC.
