Dorothy "Dot" Metcalf Settle, 74, of 605 Hickory Hollow Road, Inman, SC, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Dot was born in Inman, SC on September 3, 1942, a daughter of the late Buck and Alberta (Burns) Metcalf. She retired from Milliken after 30 years of service and was employed at Chapman High School and was a member of Inman First Baptist Church, where she was member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. She was the dedicated wife of the late James Larry Settle and the second mother of two sons Randy Settle (Julie), of Inman; Rodney Settle (Deborah) of Inman. Other survivors include a sister, Hazel Foster (Chuck), of Roebuck; sisters-in-law Carolyn Metcalf of Spartranburg and Becky Campbell (Edward) of Clinton, four grandchildren, Kyle Settle (Jen), Ryan Settle (Ashley), Clay Settle (Tory), Ben Settle and fiance' Tori Major, three great grandchildren, Kinsley Settle, Wyatt Settle and Avery Grace Settle, Nephews, Chris, Matt, Preston, Connie, Jason, Perry and Nieces, Tammy, Tracy, Pam, Sonya and Christie. She was predeceased by two brothers, Leon (Jim) Metcalf and Clyde Metcalf and his wife Anne. The family is at the home and will receive friends Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at Inman First Baptist Church atrium. Funeral Services will be held at Inman First Baptist Church at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 6th, with Dr Paul Moore and Rev Jeremiah Childers officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722 or Relay for Life of North Spartanburg.
