Mrs. Dorothy June Skovgaard Hayes, 83, of 122 Andre Drive Wellford passed away Tuesday, January 1st, 2008 at Regional Hospice Home, Spartanburg, SC.
Mrs. Hayes was born in Hills, MN on July 7, 1924, the daughter of the late Simon Adolph and Minnie (Hillesland) Skovgaard.
She is survived by one daughter: June Hayes Shiflet and husband Tom of Wellford, one son: Wayne Lee Hayes and wife Candice of Gastonia, NC, four grandchildren: Phillip Hayes and wife Jennifer of Silver Springs, MD, Alyson Daves and husband Matthew of Holly Springs, NC, Tamela Shive of WeIIford , Timothy Shiflet and wife Angela of Woodruff, three great grandchildren: Palmer Raymond Hayes, Elizabeth Ashmore Daves and Dayton Jon Shive. She was the last member of her immediate family. She was the widow of William Ray Hayes, a homemaker, a member of Wellford Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class
Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel, Inman, SC, at 11 :00 AM on Friday, January 4th, with Rev. Bryan Parris officiating.
A private burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Friday at Seawright Funeral Home immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 120 Heywood Ave., Suite 300 Spartanburg, SC 29302.
