Dorothy Mae Cope Browning

Inman, SC--- Dorothy Mae Cope Browning, 81, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away February 2, 2016 at the home of her daughter after a brief illness. Born on May 12, 1934 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of John Thomas Cope and Daisy Lee Ellis. She was a devoted mother and housewife, and resided for most of her life in West Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Louie E. Browning; brothers, Prentice, George and Ernest Cope; sisters, Edith Sapp and Catherine Eskridge. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Bruce) Collins, Libby (Bruce) Dwight, Diane (Al) Balding, Jenine (Darrell) Kimbler and Catherine (Herschel) Sowards; one son Lowell Browning; brothers, John Cope, Jr, Charles Cope, Robert Cope and William Boyd Cope; sisters, Shirley Lindquist and Mary Proffitt, as well as 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A memorial service for family and friends will be held in West Virginia in May.
