Mrs. Doris Sumner Wilson, 68, of 10 Village West Ct. Spartanburg, passed away, Saturday, November 3rd, 2007.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Spartanburg County on September 4, 1939, the daughter of Irby Sumner of Union, SC and the late Onell (Kelly) Sumner.
She worked for the Charles Lea Center for Rehabilitation and the Department of Social Services for many years and was also a member of First Baptist Church of North Spartanburg.
In addition to her father, she is survived by three sons, David R. Wilson, Jr. of Spartanburg, Wayne Allen Wilson of Wellford, Christopher M. Wilson of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and one brother Ledford Sumner of Spartanburg along with three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister Barbara Sizemore.
A Memorial Service will be held at Seawright Funeral Home at 7 PM on Tuesday, November 6th conducted by the Rev. Lamar McAbee.
The family is at 530 Old Canaan
Road, Spartanburg and will receive friends Tuesday 6-7 PM. Seawright Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society 154 Mile Stone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
