Doris Wilkins, 99, of Inman, SC passed away on July 20, 2026 at Restoration Senior Living of Spartanburg, SC. Born in Inman on February 24, 1927 to the late Thomas and Pearl Morgan Brown. Doris was the wife of the late John T. Wilkins Jr. for 72 years. In addition to her parents and her husband, Doris was predeceased by one sister, Bessie Thornton, two brothers, Harold and Marshall Brown.

Doris is survived by two daughters, Jayne W. Hammett (Ted) and Frances Wilkins; two grandsons, Dr. Bennett Hammett of Lexington, SC and John Phillop Gunter (Megan) of Brookshire, TX and four great grandchildren, Allyson Jane, Caroline Paige Hammett, John Turnbull and Leo Wilkins Gunter and five nephews.

She was a lifetime member of Inman First Baptist Church and was active in the 5 year old Sunday School Class for many years. Doris was the Vice President of Wilkins & McMillin Lumber Company of Inman. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 45 for many years, while supporting her husband John during his tenure in the Legion during the many offices he held.

A chapel service will be held at Seawright Funeral Home on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jeremiah Childers officiating. Visitation with the family will be held following the service.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the entire staff of Restoration Senior Living and Agape Hospice Care of SC for the kindness and loving care that everyone provided for Doris.
