Doris Kathleen Johnson Shields, 79, of 1 McMillin Circle, Inman, SC, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 at her home. Mrs Shields was born in Spartanburg County, SC on June 21, 1934, a daughter of the late Horace and Nettie (Johnson) Johnson. She was the widow of Charles Lee Shields, retired from Abbott Laboratories and attended Buck Creek Baptist Church in Chesnee. Survivors include a daughter, Debbie McDowell (Kenny), a son, Danny Shields, three sisters, Thelma Jolley, Dorothy Hunnicutt all of Inman, Martha Bartsch, of Spartanburg; three brothers, Ray Johnson, of Inman; Donnie Johnson, of Inman; J. Harold Johnson, of Montgomery, NY, 5 grandchildren, Amber Rhymer, Amy Brock, Emily Blanton, Haley Eubanks, Jacob Shields, 4 great grandchildren, Layla Brock, Willow Brock, Dixson Rhymer and Sutton Eubanks to be born in June. The family is at the home of her daughter, 118 Burnett Rd, Inman and will receive friends Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Buck Creek Baptist Church, Chesnee, SC, at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 2nd, with Rev Kenny McDowell and Rev Chris Gulledge officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.
