Mr. Donald Ray Thompson, 68, of 108 Clark Hill Dr. went home to be with his Lord Thursday, April 14th, 2011. Mr. Thompson was born in Wellford, SC on December 30, 1942, the son of the late Tally and Lois (Durham) Thompson and was the loving husband of Julie (Neves) Thompson.
Donald had retired as the owner/ operator of Thompson Bros. Extermination Co. and was a faithful member of Motlow Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, choir member and frequent soloist. .
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Joe Thompson of Williamston, SC, six sisters, and a very special "God Daughter" Simone Taylor of Lexington, SC. He was predeceased by a son, Darren Ray Thompson and three brothers.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Friday, April 15th from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Motlow Creek Baptist Church, 2300 Motlow Creek Rd., Campobello, SC. 29322
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16th at 2:00 PM at Motlow Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Rainey, Rev. George Case and Gene Neves officiating.The deacons of the church will serve as active pallbearers. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
