Mr. Donald Ray Ravan, 60, of 6330 New Cut Rd Inman, died Thursday, April 23rd, 2009 at The Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC.
Mr. Ravan was born in Spartanburg County, on February 21, 1949, the son of Ray and Minnie Powell Ravan of Inman, SC.
He was the widower of Yvonne McCarter Ravan.
He was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church and was a store manager with Community Cash for 20 years and more recently was a truck driver for Whitaker Chemicals. He served as a reserve officer with the Inman Police Department for a number of years.
He is survived by a daughter: Kelly Taylor and her husband Michael of Iowa and two sisters: Diane Brown and her husband Vince of Inman, Sharon Bateman and her husband Bill "Tiny" of Inman, two grandchildren: Carsyn and Olivia Taylor, three nieces: Summer Aries of Virginia Beach, Briana Bateman Of Inman and Christy Fox of Goose Creek, three nephews: Corey Brown, Ashton and Grayson Bateman all of Inman, his parents in law: William and Nancy McCarter of Inman, a special friend Rita Emory, and his favorite pet Coby.
The family is at the home of Mr and Mrs Ray Ravan at 6090 New Cut Rd. and will receive friends Saturday April 25, from 6-8 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00PM at Holston Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Reggie Parker, Rev. Donnan Lawson, and Rev. H. Alan Taylor. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
