Mr. Donald Neal McKay, 69, of 50 North Howard Street passed away, Saturday, September 26th, 2009 at the Smith Phayer Hospice Home in Landrum. Born in Syracuse, NY on August 13, 1940, he was the son of the late Donald Neal and Lucy Morgan McKay and was the husband of the late Sylvia Hope Dolinsk McKay. He was a Professor at Isothermal Community College having taught at both the Polk Campus and the Spindale Campus and was a Professional Photographer. He also enjoyed Civil War Studies. He was a member of Inman Presbyterian Church and served in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his daughter, Shawn N. McKay-Sanders and her husband Gregory of Rockville, Maryland; one sister Cherie Setzler and her husband Hubert of Saluda, North Carolina and four grandchildren, Erin Sanders, Ian Sanders, Adalaide Sanders and Kathym Sanders. Memorial services will be held Sunday, September 27 at Inman Presbyterian Church during the morning worship service at 11:00am conducted by Rev. Gordon Raynal. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society 154 Mile Stone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
