Donald Earl "Don" Collins

Donald Earl (Don) Collins, 72, of 117 Maple Drive Inman, SC, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum. 

Don was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on June 1, 1952, a son of the late Ada Vaughn Collins and Horace Ray Collins. He was the husband of Rita Jolley Collins.

Don was the retired owner of Don Collins Painting and also worked for Spartanburg County at the Landfill. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church Campobello, South Carolina. He was a 1970 graduate of Chapman High School and served 6 years in the South Carolina National Guard. Don was an avid golfer and was a member of The Humpday Hackers at Village Green Golf Course.

He loved his family; in addition to his wife, Don is also survived by two sons, Roger McCarter and his wife Kim of Spartanburg, Steven McCarter, (Vickie) of Inman, a daughter, Julie Martin and her husband, Steve of Inman, two brothers, Ray Collins of Inman, Dan Collins, (Patty), of Inman, two sisters, Sue Maxwell and her husband, Ronnie of Inman, Jan Eplee and her husband, Don, of Inman, his grandchildren; Warren McCarter (Kellyn), Mallory McCarter (Blake), Leah Martin, Katie Martin, Jackson McCarter, Josie McCarter, Kaytlin Snider, Ana Ford, and his great grandchildren; Elly and Wren McCarter, and Ollie Daniels. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his twin brother, Ron Collins.

A Memorial Service will be held at Parkway Baptist Church in Campobello, at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 3, 2025 with Pastor John Smith officiating. The family is at the home and will receive friends at the church following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkway Baptist Church, 545 Underwood Road Campobello, South Carolina 29322.
