Diane S. Butscher

Diane Smith Butscher, 82, of Lake Blalock, Chesnee, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 at her residence. 

Diane was born in Spartanburg on December 23, 1943, a daughter of the late Mamie Hammett Smith and Woodrow Smith and was the wife of Robert "Bob" Butscher of the home.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Boiling Springs where she was a member of the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class and was an accountant at White Oak Management.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by a daughter, Dawn Easler Reaves (Mike) of Spartanburg, a daughter in law, Kay Easler of Spartanburg, a sister, Linda Powell Thomas (Duane) of Cowpens, a nephew, John Powell of Spartanburg, two stepsons, Robert Butscher (Raina Kattleson) of Red Oak, NY, Clifford Butscher (Susannah) of Manhattan, NY, a step daughter, Nancy Butscher of Los Angeles, CA, two grandsons, Preston Reaves (Grace), Bryson Reaves, and five step grandchildren, Jason Butscher, Maeve Butscher, Romi Butscher, Sidney Butscher, and Alec Butscher. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by a son, Kelly Lee Easler.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman with Mr. Dean Taylor officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gibbs Cancer Center, 101 E. Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
