Dennis Ralph Settle, 65, of 298 Hope Road Spartanburg, passed away Friday, September 7th, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Dennis was born in Spartanburg on March 13, 1953, a son of Jean Quinn Settle, of Inman, and the late Rufus Woodrow Settle and was the husband of Charlene Coker Settle of the home.
He retired from Spartanburg County Schools after a teaching career that spanned 37 years and was a member of Inman First Baptist Church.
He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, a life member of the National Rifleman's Association, and was a mason.

In addition to his mother and wife, Dennis is survived by a daughter, Susan Settle Hayes, and her husband Josh, of Spartanburg; a son, Dennis Ralph Settle II, and his wife Jennifer, of Spartanburg; a sister, Mary Jean Settle Deal, and her husband Scott, of Anderson; a granddaughter, Ruby Anne Settle of Spartanburg, and a sister in law, Brenda Maxwell Settle of Inman. In addition to his father, Dennis was also predeceased by a brother, Rufus Woodrow "Woody" Settle II.

The family will receive friends 2:00 to 3:00 on Wednesday, September 12th in the atrium of Inman First Baptist Church.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 on Wednesday, September 12th at Inman First Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Moore and Mr. Ralph Settle officiating.
