Dennis Dean Emory, loving husband of Norma “Zell” Emory for 66 beautiful years, went to his eternal rest on April 18, 2026, at the blessed age of 86 years young. He was born on May 18, 1939, to Thomas and Eva (Duckett) Emory.
Dennis was the proud patriarch of the Emory family, a man whose greatest joy in life was his family. No matter the situation—big or small—family always came first. He was the one everyone could count on, always ready to lend a helping hand, share wisdom, or offer protection and guidance. To many, he was a mentor. To his loved ones, he was a hero. He truly defined what it meant to be a good man and a strong role model.
Dennis proudly served his country as a decorated Marine Corps veteran, earning recognition as the highest-ranked marksman in his class. Throughout his life, he was known as a true jack of all trades, skilled in carpentry, electrical work, farming, and mechanical repair. There was little he could not fix or figure out. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman who found peace and happiness in the outdoors. Dennis retired from Springs Industries in Lyman after years of dedicated service.
Dennis never met a stranger and always had a story to tell. He loved sharing those stories with family and friends, often filled with humor, life lessons, and memories that will live on for generations. His words, wisdom, and laughter will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love carried on by his son, Mitchell “Robert” Emory; his cherished grandchildren, Rachael Dupree, Rhendi (Thomas) Bird, Jordan Dupree, Shana (Austin) Green, Liza (Chase) Bruce, Coy Chapman, Sarah Clayton, and Caleb Emory; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Braylon Dupree, Amiya Nicholson, Liam Dupree, Stetson Bird, and Denver Green. He is also survived by several loving nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Dennis is now reunited in heaven with his beloved children, Thomas “Tommy” Dean Emory and Cynthia “Denise” Dupree; his seven siblings; and many other dear family members who welcomed him home.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Dennis leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and devotion that will forever be carried in the hearts of his family. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and he will be loved and remembered always.
Visitation will be Friday, April, 24 2026 from 1:00 until 1:45 PM at Seawright Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Mr. Keith Henry officiating. Burial wil be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home.
