Inman, SC---Dennis Morgan Burgess, Sr., 68, of 237 Lamp Post Road ,Inman, SC, passed away Saturday, November 1 ,2014, at his residence.
Dennis was born in Inman, S.C. on October 24, 1946 a son of the late Paul Lee and Georgia Ballenger Burgess. He was the husband of Diane (Lowery) Burgess. He was retired from Mayfair Mills after over 20 years of service and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness of Spartanburg, SC.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Burgess is survived by six sons: Dennis M. Burgess, Jr. and wife Lakessa of Spartanburg, Dellennis "Dell" M. Burgess, of Virginia Beach, VA; Timothy A. Ferguson, of Spartanburg, Jimmy L. Ferguson, of Inman, Victor A. Ferguson, of Greenville, and Morgan R. Burgess, of Inman; three daughters: Dionne L. Pearson and husband Mark of Spartanburg, Candace "Anitra" F. Jackson and husband Joey of Inman and Jennifer S. Burgess of Inman, two sisters, Doris Burgess and Cudrey Landrum both of Inman, three brothers: Leroy Burgess of Inman, Paul Burgess, of Macon,GA; Wade Burgess and wife Sandra of Columbia, SC; a half sister, Betty Jo Alverson, of Spartanburg ; two half brothers, Jerry Cannon and wife Rosie of Campobello, Keith Copeland of Inman; 10 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Burgess was predeceased by one brother Bennett Burgess. A Memorial Service will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 575 Cresent Ave. Spartanburg, SC, at 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 4th, 2014. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dennis M. Burgess Memorial Fund, 237 Lamp Post Road, Inman, SC 29349.
