Defoy Dan Padgett, 82, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Defoy was born in Fingerville, South Carolina on January 10, 1934, a son of the late Dewey George and Veola Durham Padgett. He is survived by his wife Betty Lou Hefner Padgett of the home.
Mr. Padgett was a United States Army veteran, a retired employee of Primi Knit, a member of Fingerville Baptist church and a member of the Goal Reachers Sunday School class.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son; Danny Lynn Padgett and his wife Debbie of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, two step- sons; Larry Earl Hood of Woodruff, South Carolina, Ronnie Dupre Hood and his wife Jean of Pauline, South Carolina, a sister; Zenith Schrimsher and her husband Gene of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Padgett was predeceased by a daughter; Elizabeth Ann Moon and a sister, Thelma Pauline Martin.
Visitation will be held , Friday, February 12, 2016, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. at Seawright Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at Fingerville Baptist Church, Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Andy Case officiating. Burial will follow in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens.
